****************
(4) 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" background fabric (white)
(4) 3" x 3" squares for flower centers (teal) (draw a diagonal line on ws of each)

If using assorted prints, sew 3 strips together.  Make (3) sets.  Press seams all same direction.
OR
If using two coordinating prints, alternately layout (3) strip sets, sew one of each color layout.  With (2) remaining 2 1/2" strips, cut (3) 2 1/2" x 6" from each color.  Alternately layout and sew to make one of each color layout.  Press seams all one direction.

From 3-strip sets cut (4) 6 1/2" x 11".  If using two coordination fabrics, cut two from each color layout.  From rest of strip sets cut (8) 6" x 6 1/2" pieces.  Trim each piece to be 6" x 6" by cutting 1/4" off each side.  Now have (8) 6" x 6" pieced squares.  (4 of each color layout if using two coordinating prints)

Cutting with the Quick Curve Ruler (QCR):

Layout 6 1/2" x 11" pieces.  Mark 6 1/2" on each long side from opposite ends.  See photo.  Position QCR curve cut-out over mark and opposite corner.  Cut in curve cut-out.  Repeat for opposite side.  Repeat for all 6 1/2" x 11" pieces for a total of (8) piece A curves.  Discard small piece in center.

Cut 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" background fabric square in half diagonally.  Measure 1/2" on each tip and cut off.

Position QCR curve cut-out over points indicated and cut in the curve cut-out.  Discard small piece.  Repeat for all 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" squares.  Now have (8) B shapes.

Piecing Curves:

Layout (8) A shapes and (8) B shapes.

Position A on B as shown leaving a 1/4" to 1/2" tail of B.  Holding one piece in each hand, slowly bring curved edges together as they feed under presser foot.  Repeat for all A and B shapes.  Press seams towards print fabric.

Square Up Curved AB sets:

Square up each curved AB set to 6" x 6".  Position QCR on block as shown.  Position curved seam at the 1/8" mark on opposite ends.  Trim right and top.

Lift ruler, rotate block, line up previously cut sides with 6" marks on ruler.  Trim right and top.  Repeat for all AB curved sets.

Sew centers:

Layout (4) 6" x 6" strip set blocks previously cut as shown.  (Using 2 of each color way if using two coordinating prints.)  Position 3" x 3" centers on corner.  Sew on drawn line.  Trim corner a 1/4" from stitched seam.  Press seam open.

Layout and Quilt Assembly:

Layout blocks as shown.  Take care to alternate pieced directions.  Sew blocks to form rows.  Press. Sew rows together to complete Spring Fling block.  Press.

Thanks so much! I wish I had time today to make one but I've allowed myself to put off spring cleaning the yard for far too long already. Maybe in a few days.
